Subject: [ferrethealth] not well ferret
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

So Bullet who is 1yr 5 months has not been feeling well since oct.
It was first diagnosed as a respritory infect. b/c he had runny nose
and eyes. He didnt get better on the clavamox so we took him to
another vet. They thought it might be a blockage b/c they felt a
obstruction in hin intestines. He was to weak to do the surgery and
his albumin was also very low. He started to get better and then
went down hill again in Dec. He has lost about a lb. since this has
all happened. We put him on amoxicillin, benedryl (b/c he was itchy)
Flagyl (which I took him off b/c he was getting all red and itchy)
and that treatment did not work. The doctor still wants to do
exploratory b/c his symptoms can basically go along with every dz.
He is on prednisone starting last night to see if it will at least
help him gain weight and feel better. Also we have him on 60ml of
fluids every day Here are the list of his symptoms if any one has
any ideas please let me know. Thank you

Symtoms:
Lethargic and very weak
staggering and falling over (so bad that he is sometimes peeing
himself)
hair loss on tail (has picked some out himself but vet thinks some
fell out, so adreanal is on the table)
drooling sometimes, though it is when I am giving him his med so I
am not to sure if its drool or his meds)
loss of appetite and thirst (He is on duck soup)
runny eyes
