I think they may just not be used to being handled, or bathed, or
groomed. Maybe neglected would be a better word. It's just that it is
all new to them, and they are scared.
Keep handling them, let them come to you and sniff your hand, offer
them bits of their food. Over time, I'm sure they come around. Be
patient.
