Hey Rachael---

I doubt these kids came from a shelter. Most shelters make you sign
a contract and in that contract it states that the ferrets should be
brought back if they can no longer be cared for.

Some Rescue Remedy might help these kids while they are getting used
to you.

I've heard a lot of good things about it. I think you just rub some
on their feet and it helps to ease the anxiety.

As for the biter, you'll need a lot of patience. You haven't
mentioned that blood it drawn when she bites, so I'm guessing it's
just the newness of everything. Maybe some of that bitter apple
spray on your hands might help teach her not to bite. Scruffing the
ferret and telling her "no" in a firm voice (not yelling) might help
to teach her what's appropriate.

Is there a chance that the bitey girl is deaf? It takes a little
longer to get through to deaf ferrets, but it can be done.

I hope this helps. Keep us posted.
