Sometimes you have to 'coax' a ferret into getting used to a new food, particularly soup or some variation. Try rubbing some on his gums. You may need to do this at a few different times. Then see if he'll lick it off your finger. Then see if he'll eat it out of the bowl while he's in your lap. If you can make this progression, then the next step is seeing if he'll eat it out of a bowl on his own. Of course, it does usually help if the soup is warmed. Not hot, but warmer than room temperature. It also makes it more aromatic.
