Subject: [ferrethealth] human gastroenteritis contagious to ferret?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
My husband has been feeling ill the last couple days...achiness,
headaches, nausea, diarrhea. He went to a quick clinic last night and
they told him he had gastroenteritis. He is also going to his regular
doctor today just to be on the safe side, as he is going on three
straight days of upset stomach, and I am worried he may have something
my ferret could catch. She is 2.5 yrs old and on prednisolone (0.25 cc
of the 5 mg/5mL doseage once a day)for what we believe is IBS due to a
food allergy. Because she is on pred, I tend to worry a lot about her
getting sick. I am keep her away from my husband now, and am taking
percautions myself to make sure I do not catch it or pass it to her.
If it is gastroenteritis, should I be considered about her catching
it? Is there a list somewhere of diseases than can be passed from
human to ferret?
