Subject: [ferrethealth] To neuter or not to neuter?

My daughter's ferret "Nutmeg" (f) is now 6months old and I believe that
we need to consider neutering it as we do not intend to breed? Speaking
to the vet on the phone they have suggested a Suprelorin implant
instead of surgery. I am going to meet with them to discuss. Has anyone
else had experience of this for their ferret instead of surgegical
neutering?? Is it practical to let let the ferret ovulate naturally
until she is more mature, say two years and then neuter so as to lessen
the likely hood of adrenal disease?
