I have a very overweight boy who just blew up over the course of 3 weeks.=
=A0 Clyde went from 2.7 pound to 6.5 pounds in that time.=A0 He is a reoccu=
ring adrenal case (surgery Oct 2007), and the weight gain began about 3 wee=
ks after he recieved a Ferretonin implant.=A0 His lymphnodes became round s=
wollen and hard in late April.=A0 After biopsies, and ultrasound confirmed =
a very fat little boy we had to put him on a weight loss regime in Mid July=
.
=A0
I began by taking him outside to the back of my yard and making him run/wal=
k back multiple times (of course starting slow and working up to more trips=
and making him climb the stairs to the door too).=A0 This started him off.=
=A0 I then cut back his soup intake, and started measuring his food intake.=
=A0 He has no insulinoma issues (confirmed by glucose test) and I began to =
feed him 2x daily with limited kibble.=A0 I fed Innova EVO Cat and I went t=
o a 1/8 of a cup at each feeding.=A0 His tone dose got cut in half (5 drops=
a day).=A0 He did very well on this and began to lose weight-but hit a pla=
teau in November when it became to cold to walk the yard.=A0 I then switche=
d him over to the EVO reduced fat Dog (52% protien and 15% fat) feeding at =
the same times and same amounts.=A0 He had been getting more active again n=
ow that he can move and at the last weigh in a week or so ago he was at 3.9=
pounds.=A0 We are still working, but I anticipate at this rate he will hav=
e
his weight down to near normal in late March.=A0 Nearly a year after this =
began and nearly 8 months after weightloss was initiated.
=A0
I just figured I could share with you to help with some ideas that worked f=
or me.=A0 Good Luck!
