This is exactly what I wiil do if/when I have another young female
ferret. I know that other UK owners are thinking the same way and I
believe that some European owners already do this.
Based on the current idea that early neutering is one of the causes
of adrenal disease and that the same product is used to control
breeding cycles in horses and sheep and so is believed to be good
practice.
It is possible to resume breeding status if required.
It is also cheap compared to the alternative of treating adrenal
disease.
I am not sure if this would be OK for lifelong treatment but know of
no reason why not, so later surgical neutering would never be needed.

I have a 4 year old with this implant to help with adrenal disease
which is working well.
