Well, what you are dealing with is not clear-cut.

BTW, think of a ferret who is 6 years of age as
being about like a human of 6, but a ferret of
8 of being like a human who is 80. As you see,
the former is not old.

Given how size varies and given that it is hard to know what
"dip" means it is hard to tell if that matters or not.

Urinary tract infections can be stand-alone problems, or they
can happen in response to other problems. They can also exist
anywhere along the urinary tract.

Some examples:

Adrenal disease in ferrets is a hormonal disorder which can in
turn cause problems with the prostate.

Uroliths are bladder stones or slush (which a female can pass
easier than a male can when small enough), and some types
require husbandry changes and sometimes medication. X-raying
the bladder makes sense:

If a ferret has difficulty having the urethra drip then infection
becomes more likely. This can happen secondary to spinal
damage from injury, from disease (lymphoma of spinal cord,
chordoma, various bone tumors), etc.

Does this ferret have a naturally very short tail? There is a rare
possibility in that case:

Obviously, there are other possibilities because too little is
known so far to narrow things down more.

The basic tests to start with including imaging the bladder and
back (start with x-ray) and doing at least these two blood tests:
CBC, Chemistry Panel, perhaps also the adrenal panel.
