Subject: [ferrethealth] ferret smells like a lilac
To: fhl <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

Morney who is 5 years old has recently begun to smell like a lilac.
It is most noticeable on her breath but also can be smelled lightly on
her arm pits. Not a stink. Floral, and distinctly like white lilacs.

Any possible health considerations if a ferret who does NOT appear to
have gotten into anything has that scent change with age? This is a
new change for us.

She is also roaning from the tail upward, so first got a gray tail,
then a gray tail and rump, now graying a bit higher. Her skin oil
production is reducing when she has roaned and her undercoat is denser
in those areas so she has gone from being someone who was always on
the oily side to being fluffy on most of her body.
