Hi Tony,

She may have a low grade infection and the resultant inflammation may be
impeding drainage. My vet puts them on antibiotics if there is even a
slight indication of infection (i.e., grainy consistency, more smelly
than normal, discoloration, etc.).

A course of antibiotics may resolve the problem.
