Hi Jili,
Which protocol are you using for the helicobacter? There is the old
one with Metronidazole and the newer one with Biaxin? I have used both
and found the newer protocol much easier to administer since you aren't
dealing with the putrid taste of the Metronidazole.
In terms of sulcrafate/carafate I've always given it 30 - 40 minutes
before each feeding. Seems to be the time it takes to take effect. I
find if you give this religiously before each feeding of duck soup
(i.e., chicken baby food or A/D or combo of both with water) it makes a
huge difference with how quickly they heal.
