Insulinoma is a progressive disease and you will have to gradually increase her dosage of Prednisolone over time. By closely monitoring her behavior you will know when it is time to increase her dosage a little bit. Lack of energy, hind end weakness, sleeping a lot more than usual, staring into space... all can be signs that her dosage is too low, and thus her blood glucose levels are too low. You really DON'T want to wait for an actual violent seizure before increasing the dosage of Prednisolone. Also, if it's possible, splitting her TOTAL daily dosage up into 3 doses, 8 hours apart is better than 2 doses, 12 hours apart.
As far as hurting, I can't say either way from my experience, but unless ferrets are in a good amount of pain, they usually hide it pretty well.
