Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] pyloric adenocarcinoma
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Years ago I had a ferret that had adenocarcinoma in his stomach that also e=
ncompassed his pyloric valve.=A0 He only had a tiny hole left going to his =
intestines=A0when my vet opened him up.=A0 He was 6 months old at the time.=
=A0 If I remember correctly, she ended up removing part of his stomach wher=
e the bulk of the adenocarcinoma was and then cut a larger hole in the tumo=
r so food could pass into his intestines. She wasn't able to remove it all.=
=A0 We expected him to need surgery again later in life but he never did.=
=A0 However, his immune system never seemed to be that good. He seemed to c=
atch things the other ferrets never did.=A0 He ended up living to be 6 1/2 =
years old.
