Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: should I vaccinate elderly ferret for distemper
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Does anyone know of information or studies about the actual incidence of
distemper in ferrets? In my years of having ferrets (since 1996), I have never
personally known of a ferret contracting distempter. Maybe it is low because
so many are vaccinated, but I am just curious in terms of my own decision to
stop vaccinating after age 3 as to how much risk I am placing my ferrets in
by not vaccinating, versus the risks of reactions - which is why I have
stopped.
