LOL Didn't we have a similar conversation at least 10 years ago,
Lucie? Lucie and I talked of sharing Lupron when it only came in
human doses, was very expensive, and needed to be frozen in liquid
nitrogen!
We have ordered 2mg a time or two and used 1 mg, then stored the rest
for a future dose. My experience has been that anything less than
1mg every 3-4 months is pretty much useless. I tried 100mcg and
200mcg monthly with no results at all. If you think about it, giving
500mcg every 4 months equates to just 125 mcg per month. I used to
be the only client who used the 1mg, 4 month depot. Now, my vet has
even quit using the lower doses entirely, and uses a minimun of 1mg.
A very well-known ferret vet in Florida routinely uses 2mg each time.
If I recall, ordering 2mg is just about twice the cost of 1mg, so
there is really no savings ordering the larger dose if you just plan
to store it.

No. That's what I use every 4 months, without fail.

preventative in the future if we cannot store it.
It can be stored.

We use Professional Arts Pharmacy, but we only use the 1mg.

[Moderator's Note: once mixed the time frame and
conditions for storage are quite different than if it
has not been mixed. Our vet mixes and then freezes
in pre-measured syringes. Defrost in a glass of room
temp water and you are set to go. Once mixed storage
time is shorter and it needs to be frozen.]
