Oh, I remember very clearly what Katharine is talking about. Back
when lupron was a new treatment for adrenal ferrets, it was very hard
to come by. It was a frequent discussion back then about how to get
it and store it, as it was only available in very large, very
expensive quantities that needed to be stored in at a temperature
much lower than regular freezers -- nitrogen freezing. I can
remember pricing nitrogen freezers and trying to figure out how to
fit one into the rather small townhouse I lived in at the time. We
have come a very long way in the availability of the treatment option
since then!

My vet tends to be on the conservative side as well, however is
willing to listen to me regarding what does and does not work. My
experience with 100 mcg and 200 mcg dosages have been ineffective for
my kids. The lowest dosage I have found to be effective was the 387
mcg that we used last year. Before that, we needed 400 mcg for one
of my males a few years back. I'm glad the lower dosages are
effective for some, its just not been our experience here.
