Lupron is available (at least here in the US) in smaller "non-human"
doses (still human grade, just smaller amounts) from Professional Arts
Pharmacy. It is still expensive but not nearly as expensive as buying
a single human dose. My vet and I both checked into this. Prices when
buying human doses ranged into the thousands (three to six thousand,
if I remember correctly). Granted, the amount this pays for can be
broken down into smaller doses but even then it is still more costly
(again, my vet and I both looked into this). From PAP you can purchase
smaller doses at prices ranging from $35.00 to $209.00, depending on
what dosage you buy. For many, myself included, this works out to be
more affordable.

Some do well on lower doses. None of mine ever have, and I know of
others who've said the same, but there are some, like yourself, who do
find the lower doses to be effective.

I'm in agreement here, I'm also conservative when it comes to medications.

In agreement again. Lupron certainly isn't a one size fits all
medication. Different dosages seem to work for different ferrets. It's
all a matter of finding which dosage works for each particular ferret,
and I would think starting with the lowest dose and working your way
up, if need be, is probably the best way to do it.
