Subject: [ferrethealth] Lupron and adrenal
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Since we are on the topic of adrenal disease and Lupron. Last September, my youngest Sidnee developed a "hot spot" (I forget what the vet calls it, but it is dark red and crusty) and goes away in a few days. I started her on Lupron shortly after that, in October, as she was bald except for her guard hairs, all over her body and wasn't filling in after her shed. Approximately 3 weeks after that, she got another one and then the Lupron. Same thing for December and January...always about a week before her shot is due. Now, one of my other girls, Greta, has been progressively getting bald since December (we decided to wait on the Lupron, as she had not shed yet and thought it was that process). Now, she is bald except for her guard hairs and yesterday, I noticed a "hot spot" on her!!! My vet thinks I am nuts, but I am starting to thing this is an indicator of adrenal disease. I am starting Greta on Lupron, but I am wondering if anyone has noticed this correlation, or has a
ny ideas.
