To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My deepest sympathy to you, Lauren. I don't have direct experience with
this to share, but in my work with dogs I've run across a lot of
interesting information and anecdotes about dogs grieving for other
dogs. I can only imagine the loss your other fuzzies are feeling, and
there's a lot of compelling evidence out there that our companion
animals grieve in many of the same ways we do, and they experience grief
each in their own individual way like we do, including feeling ill and
depressed. Anyway, just a thought to consider. If there was a big
change at Tank's passing, I think some of the info out there regarding
dogs might be helpful with your ferrets - they love us, and they love
each other, like dogs do (and there is just more out there on dogs) -
you could do a search on "dog grief" and find lots.
