Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Pathology lab wrong about lymphoma?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Three suggestions:
1. If the slides still exist then the lab could forward them
to a ferret-knowledgeable one instead, for example,
Zoopath NW
2. Ultrasound guided splenic aspirate can be done
BUT
3. Neither may be necessary. At a year of age if this is
lymphoma then the most common form is going to be
Juvenile Lymphoma (which other ages can get but far more
rarely. In that case if a chest x-ray shows an enlarged thymus
you pretty well have your diagnosis. The technical name is
lymphoblastic lymphoma for that form, and i am afraid that
your description does fit for that illness so I think that your
next logical step is a chest x-ray.
