Thank you EVERYONE for your replies and concerns for my little Perla.

Perla was recovering well from her spleen surgery, as a matter of fact she
even was picking on some kibble on her own!
The day before yesterday.... she started not to act right. She didn't want
to take her antibiotic (which is normal), but also didn't want to eat her
duck soup (which was abnormal, because she was eating that well). She also
seemed a bit confused...and we expected she was maybe dehydrated, based on her
scruff check and the way her eyes looked. Her gums were still nice and pink.

I took her to the vet in the morning. He said it was not dehydration, but
rather the tumor next to her pancreas has grown since surgery last Wed., and
was causing her discomfort. His plan was to start her on her treatment ASAP.
We were waiting for her to heal a little more, but he said we could no
longer wait.

We had decided to follow the advice of a very well known and respected vet
from the FHL.
She was going to receive prednisilone daily and oral cytoxin every three
weeks.

My vet wanted to modify that protocol slightly, and just start her w/1 round
of IV Vincristine, because he said it would make an improvement right away,
and he has had success with these three drugs in the past. He would only
give Vincristine once from this point forward, unless he felt it was needed
again.

She received yesterday...

0.05 ml IV Vincristine
12ml fluids
1ml IV Dextrose (because she had not eaten much that day)

She also started .1cc 10mg/ml prednisilone, and will be starting Cytoxin on
Friday and will receive it once every three weeks. (Dr X had strongly
rec. not giving Cytoxin and Viscrinstine on the same day..and to wait a three
day interval, so she gets her 1st dose of Cytoxin on Friday).

She was very weak when we got home, but as of last night.....

Her eyes looked much brighter, and her overall appearance looks better.
She started to take her Duck soup from me again, and is accepting it when it
is presented to her.
She was up in the middle of the night drinking water from both her bowl and
her water bottle.
She is making her way to the litter box w/o stumbling...and seems steady on
her feed.

She does want to just sleep and rest. She spends most of her time in her
snugly sleep sack resting....ahh...as I type this..... she is in there grooming
herself.

Please continue to offer your advice and suggestions....and to Pray for my
litter Perla.

Perla will turn 6 on March 15th. She is a sable, tiny little gitl, who has a
MIND OF HER OWN! She is very independent, and when she can't get something
she wants (a treat).....she taps me on my ankle w/her paw and licks her lips
when I look at her! If that doesn't work.....she goes on to my book shelf
and pushes the books out at me!!!!!! She is quiet a persistent little ferret.
I always tell her that she bullies me! We call her...Perlina, Perlina
Sunshine, Sun Shinney Day, and Sista!

She is very special to us, please continue to pray for her.

Thank you,

Judy
