To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi everyone....

Perla is really having a hard time accepting her meds. She tries to eat and
wants to..... but can't really take much. We think the cancer in her
stomach is causing having her meds/eating to be painful....and therefore
stressful. We are hoping the treatment selected kicks in soon, and starts to improve
how she feels.

She is fine and happy....as long as I dont try to give her meds. She will
even try to eat....but not much and goes to the bathroom shortly after, or to
her box...even if nothing comes out.

She is also on liver meds because her values were VERY elevated.

Since we want to reduce stress, and meds are stressing her...and she must
have them...I asked about using an indictable long lasting form of
Prenisilone....Depomerol.

My vet is asking....

Has anyone ever used Depomerol before with Lymphoma?
How did it work?
How much was used....what is the dosage?
How long did it last?

Dose anyone or any of the vets here have any experience using Depomerol with
Lymphoma?

My vet will be going away today for a week...so I would like to get this
info to him as right away before he leaves if possible.

And I also have a question...

Perla had her Vincristine (IV) Tuesday and started pred...she will start
oral Cytoxin on Friday.

If a ferret will respond to treatment..what is everyone's experience on how
long it takes to see the ferret act and feel better.....??

Thank you again,

Judy
