My understanding is that it's best to wait an hour after giving carafate before you give any other meds. The carafate coats the stomach and lessens the absorption of other meds.

Try giving the prednisolone with some food. One thing that has worked for me is to measure out the prednisolone in a syringe, then put it on a spoon and cover with ferretvite. Trinny has been on this for a while now and thinks she's getting a treat every time. Far better than the stress usually associated with trying to give the pred orally via a syringe. We use prednisolone that is compounded with strawberry flavor.

Would anyone know what the timing is for carafate to protect the
stomach before giving the prednisolone? I can't find it anywhere - and
I don't want to mess it up. The vet still hasn't called back and I'm
afraid to follow my other cat vet's advice because he is a good guy
but a bad ferret vet...
