With slippery elm bark powder, a little goes a long way. I would estimate maybe 1/8 of a teaspoon mixed with soup once a day. If that isn't effective then you can try adding a little more. You don't want to use too much or it can cause the poops to have too much mucuous. I use it as a regular part of the soup that I feed our 5 ferrets daily. Trinny has IBD, so she occasionally gets a little more. Her IBD has been under very good control for a long time now, although she has other issues we're dealing with (adrenal and insulinoma). I don't buy capsules, I just go to a health food store to the 'bulk herbs' section and scoop some into a bag. It's far cheaper that way and easy to use.

One other thing I do is supplement some 'good bacteria' 2 or 3 times a week. I used to use regular acidophilus tablets, which were good, but I've found that the Forti Flora (for felines) in packets works better. I mix just a little of that in their soup as well, but not every day. Here is where I purchase it from:

them? It is in a tablet do you just crush sprinkle in soup or food? &
what is the recommended dose, 1 tab, 1/2 tab?
