Subject: [ferrethealth] Adrenal disease
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Rocky has had his third Lupron shot 200mg. A vet I'm considering going to says he needs
an estrogen blocker also (as he is high on estrodiol but normal on other hormones in Tenn.
Panel. The vet I'm currently seeing doesn't seem to know much about treating adrenal
disease medically.

Rocky has been getting oral melatonin for a few years now, though only recently diagnosed
with adrenal disease when I noticed problems relieving himself, sometimes vocalizing and
going from newspaper to newspaper.

Is there any less expensive alternative to Lupron? I have already asked 2 vets if they could
give a 3- or 4- month shot because they are difficult to get to. Both said no, monthly only.
Does he need an estrogen blocker? Neither vet suggested propecia even though I
mentioned it.

He also has had insulinoma for 2 yrs, treated since 2007 with prednisolone & diazoxide.

He may also have lymphoma.

Rocky had his 8th birthday last week.
