Give the meds at least an hour before, or an hour after the carafate.
Once you give the carafate, wait 20-30 minutes before feeding. Much
longer than that and it may have passed through (remember that
everything passes through ferrets much quicker than other mammals) and
won't be effective. It is a drawn out process when trying to give
carafate and meds.
