Subject: [ferrethealth] Lethargic and breathing rapidly
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,

My 2yr old baby girl houdini (yes, she learned to escape everything)
Dew, started to act very different last night, I had given all 4 of my
ferrets baths last night but after I got them into their play room
houdini started to act very lethargic and not really wanting to play
with the rest of the ferrets. so after putting her into the cage she
just curled up where I laid her down. while sleeping I noticed that
all the other three ferrets where breathing regularly long sleeping
breaths she was doing shallow rapid breathing. Houdini has eaten,
drink and even pooped since this started. but she is not being her
playful self when I bring her out of her cage, she just finds the
octopus we have for them and curls up and goes to sleep again.

I will mention that our house has just gotten done with a battle of
the flu, could this be the cause?

Is she is pain of some sort? is there anything I can do for her
temporarily? I am going to try to get a hold of my vet tomorrow, she
is closed on weekends and it being valentines day, but has an
emergency number. I am just trying to understand what is going on with
my ferret so I am more prepared in the future.

Thank you for all your Help,

Jaysen
