This sounds suspiciously like the beginnings of megaesophagus. We had a
little girl who came down with MegaE in fall 07...you could hear her
tummy also from across the room. We thought it was all kinds of stuff
and the vet put her on different meds but the problem got worse, and
soon she would upchuck right after she ate. When we did the Xray at
that point you could clearly see that her esophagus near her throat was
okay but as you followed it down the digestive tract it began to get
wider and wider. I would strongly suspect MegaE -- did you get an Xray
done?
