Can you provide more information? What kind of antibiotics is he on? Is he on I.V. fluids?
Hind end weakness is a symptom of a number of possible problems, and usually not the primary problem itself. It's possible that it's as simple as something like his heliobactor running wild, in which case amoxicillin would help, but he also sounds like he is probably very dehydrated, and should be getting fluids and nutrients intravenously. How did his illness progress before you brought him to the vet, and after? Please post more info.
