I'm very sorry about your bad news. You are doing everything you can for Linus.

When the time to help him pass on does come, there are ways to do it very peacefully. When we had to put Neo to sleep, our vet gave him a sedative and then put an IV line in his arm. He then brought Neo back out to my wife and I in the exam room. We held Neo and spoke to him as the vet administered the final medicine into the IV line, so that Neo never felt any pain or fear. He drifted off to a final sleep in our arms, hearing our voices tell him that it's okay to go now.

The one thing I would mention about the meds is that Proglycem is not really a replacement for Prednisolone, but more of a supplement to it. Some ferrets are helped by Proglycem, some are not. I did not find that it helped when I used it in the past. But I would not take him off of the Prednisolone. Also, I don't think that the Pred is a cause of his vomiting. It is possible, but unlikely. The yeast infection sounds like a more likely cause.

I hope he gets better.
