Thanks Jeff & Dr. Sue.
I was told by our vet that Pepto and Pepcid treat two entirely different
ways, and that he prefer that Boo Boo be on the Pepto. Boo Boo is only on
the one antibiotic, so I'm hoping this will be enough... ?
I hadn't thought of electrolytes. He's drinking water, peeing his normal
amount, and now his poops look more normal and consistently normal than they
have in a year.
As for food, Boo Boo is a picky eater and doesn't take to anything new
without a serious fight. He's eating sheppard and green, which is
chicken-based kibble, so I'm hoping that's okay. Plus, since he does eat
dry kibble, he eats that as it's kept out for all of them (I have 5).
The vet is out of the office today so I'll be calling him tomorrow asking
about the combo treatment for ulcer. Boo Boo's already been on the Amoxi
for 2 weeks, so I wonder if it's a good idea to change the protocol now and
keep him on antibiotics longer?
Also, the vet didn't prescribe carafate this time. I'm assuming his
thinking was that the Pepto was going to protect his stomach?
I'm going to print out the message/post so he can read it.
Thanks so much. :)
Ella
