Mornie does not appear to have any pain at all.

She is eating and drinking normally, and does
not mind the area being touched.

There is no unusual inflammation, no drainage,
no signs of infection.

So what we are doing after the vet appointment
is we are monitoring it and will schedule a standard
dental appointment but we don't have to rush to do that.
She is five and has not needed any dental care to date,
but a cleaning would be a good thing at this point and
what is left of the root can be examined then and a little
root canal done if needed. If she does develop symptoms
then she will need the work immediately, of course,
but she did well in her vet appointment today (except
that she would not let the vet see her teeth unless I
was also directly involved and then it was okay). She
does not even need antibiotics at this point.

This sort of accident can vary a lot but Mornie got lucky.
Now, if only she and Pivot would have fewer strenuous
wrestling and chases, or at least less accident-prone
ones, even if not fewer.
