Subject: RE: [ferrethealth] Re:canine either gone or broken above the gum line
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi, Sukie, and everyone else,

While I've never dealt with a canine broken above the gumline Nyssa did
break a canine right below the gum line. Almost nothing visible was
left. This happened due to wrestling/play but it was already after she
had been diagnosed with lymphoma. The decision the vet made since her
health was already compromised was not to do anything unless there was a
sign of infection or other problem. There was no pain, no difficulty
eating, and no change in behavior. We never did do anything for her
other than one course of antibiotics when it looked a little inflamed.
She probably lived close to a year and a half with it and it never
seemed to bother her.

Hope this helps,
Caity and the terrific trio
(Ella, Zephyr, and Chin Soon)
