I would second this advice, get him castrated ASAP, then keep him apart
for at least a couple of weeks, then tentatively introduce them in a
neutral space, if he tries to mate, or seems aggressive , leave it a
bit longer.

The smell reduction will give you some idea of how quickly his hormones
are subsiding.
