I have had two ferret kidneys removed. The first was only a kidney.
The second was an adrenal surgery and my vet ended up removing a kidney
and a lobe of the liver. It was a humongous tumor and encompassed
both. I have pictures that he took, and you can clearly identify the
kidney and the liver lobe.
Recovery from both surgeries was no different than any major surgery on
ferrets.
