Good. She needs a vet visit. Please have your vet check her
electrolytes. That will rule out surgically induced Addison's Disease.

It is possible to see Addisonian symptoms after only one gland has been
removed if the other gland has atrophied. It usually does kick in and
start working after the first gland is removed but it sometimes takes a
few days. If this is surgically induced Addison's pred alone may work
but probably won't. It usually needs to be combined with
fludrocortisone.

If electrolytes are way off and you begin treating medically you do run
the risk that the other adrenal gland won't start working at all.

Lethargy and loss of appetite are the first symptoms of Addison's.
Uncontrollable shivering is next. After that is collapse. If your
ferret collapses that is an Addisonian Crisis and it is life threatening
very quickly and the clock is ticking. She will need emergency vet care
in *VERY* short order.

I want to make two things very clear: 1. We don't know that this is
Addison's and 2. I am not a vet. I have been through surgically induced
Addison's with two ferrets to date. You don't mess with this. Nothing
anyone can say on this list is a substitute for vet care.

Good luck,
Caity and the terrific trio
