Subject: [ferrethealth] Boo Boo update 2: new symptom?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Boo Boo's re-check went well yesterday, and that 'dark spot' on the x rays
from last time is gone. The vet thought perhaps then, and still does, that
maybe it was just a pocket of stool in his colon. It's gone now, so that's
good. He said he was pleased with the x rays from yesterday and everything
looks fine.

However, I don't know if it's related or not, but Boo Boo's penis is VERY
red today. I didn't notice any redness yesterday, not even while he was
being examined. So I'm not at all sure what this is, or if he scraped
himself while crawling under, on, or in something. Today is Fat Tuesday
(Mardi Gras) and the clinic is closed, though they do get paged if someone
calls the ans service and has an emergency, etc. I don't know if this is an
emergency or not, so I wanted to ask you guys what you think I should
do----wait and watch him throughout the day, or call? I think one of the
vets will be in the clinic today, because she mentioned it yesterday while I
was there.

The only change since yesterday is adding Pepcid AC and not giving Pepto. I
bought Boo Boo some acidophilus, though it does have other 'good' bacteria
in the capsules, but I've not given that to him yet (I need to get dosage
and mixture advice). I can't think of anything else that could have caused
this.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Ella
