AH! Yes, that is consistent with what we have found.
Adoptees often were in homes where the people really
were not careful about what they did. We've run into
much higher rates of medical problems with adoptees
than with any others (except for the ones with major
deformities who we used to take in back when we
could afford their extreme medical care needs).
Rescued ferrets tend to be very appreciative but we
have found them to be more fragile. They are still
worth it and provide wonderful kisses and cuddles,
of course!
