Subject: [ferrethealth] Pau d' Arco

Hi,
I see from Judy's recent post that Pau d' Arco should not be used in
ferrets. I have seen it recommended in several professional
publications for use in ferrets, including a recently published text on
Exotics.
I would really like to know the rationale why it should not be used
because this is contradicting these sources. This becomes terribly
confusing for the consumer who is looking for the best available
treatments for their ferrets.
Is this one of those treatment controversies or is there recent
research to indicate it is not safe for use in ferrets??
Thanks!
Tressie
[Treating vets have run into too many
