That's just the thing that's got us stumped. I don't swim, don't do pools,
lakes, streams.. love looking, but I've not even been able to do that in
probably 8-10 years. We live in suburbia, but most everyone along our
street has dogs and/or cats, and there is the occasional stray. They all
take their animals to poop in the same place---on this huge park-like median
that divides the avenue. Few people pick up after their pets. We basically
live a couple of blocks from downtown Mobile, AL.

Julep did test negative, though, so she's not (yet) infected.

Our shoes is the only logical explanation, and to tell you the truth.. I'm
even skeptical of that. I do wonder, though, about places such as Petsmart,
because they have dogs in there all the time, some have accidents, and then
there are the adoption events where there are tons of dogs, cats, puppies,
etc. I wonder if walking around those areas might have picked up something
on our shoes, because our vet says this isn't that uncommon in shelter (city
shelter) dogs and cats. I even considered perhaps the vet office as well as
a possibility, especially since we've been there a few times over the past
few months.

Milo & Maui I got about 2 years ago from a couple, very clean nit-picky
couple, which is why Milo & Maui are with me now. The others I've had since
they were kits. Seems like this off and on diarrhea business has been
happening for few months, but not that many. And a few months ago I had to
make a couple of trips to the vets to get everyone their shots. When they
go to the vet's office, when they have to potty, they either have to go on
the floor in the exam room, or in the small bathroom in the waiting area if
we're not in a room yet. I guess they could have picked something up on
their feet during one of those visits. And that last vaccination visit they
had we didn't get the parasite/fecal testing done because we didn't have
enough money. Maybe they had it then and we didn't know. But then, Boo Boo
was the only one having poo issues at that time, and he's had poo issues
since his first bout with ulcer over 2.5 years ago.

I'm going to drive myself crazy trying to find out how this happened,
because it seems that's the only way to know for sure how to prevent it from
happening again.
