Maybe I should have a endoscopy done to see what is going on. Or, me
and our longtime vet were talking about 'what ifs' and he said as a
last resort, before we decide to do euthanasia, he wants to try
putting a tube down his esophagus to his stomach. He said they do
this on dogs and cats. The tube would basically be his 'new'
esophagus...esophagus...<WBR>has anyone remotely heard of this,
species? Maybe it is worth a try before putting him down, which is
frighteningly starting to seem like it is closer than we thought.

**Long-term management with stomach tubes has been done quite successfully in
dogs and cats, and in some ferrets that I have heard of, although I haven't
placed one in a ferret yet. It's definitely worth a try if he isn't having
success with upright feeding.**
