I will answer from my own experience, especially cause I want to get
as much info into the archives about megaesophagus for next time
someone is looking.
So anyway, about three weeks ago, Linus vomited once, white foam and
pieces of kibble. I thought he got food stuck in his throat or
something, but the back of my neck prickled when I heard the weird
gurgling sounds from his stomach (I had already heard of megaesophagus
years ago and knew the signs). Then, once in a while while he was
eating his gravy, he would stop and gag for a second, then go back to
eating. Also, when I was cleaning the bedding there were one or two
times when I saw some pieces of kibble stuck to the mat, and looking
back I bet they were dried up vomit/regurgitation that Linus had left.
About 7 days ago was when things really got serious, with him
regurgitating more frequently and making more sounds. The sounds
never really stopped but when we went to the vet the first time, three
weeks ago, a Barium was done and the vet thought he just had a lot of
gas so I kept just thinking). He's also had numerous x-rays,
including digital ones, but none showed megaesophagus. They may have
if he had eaten recently, I am not sure. It was not until the 2nd
barium that it was definitely clear.
