**IF the municipality's water supply has been contaminated (which is
uncommon, but does happen) Giardia can get into the water supply and yes, it can come
through your tap. We use a Pur faucet mounted filter, which states that it
will filter Giardia.
Outside water sources are a much more common source, though.**
