Thank you for accurately providing the dosage in mg
which is what a person needs to know the dose.

Ml is not useful unless a person gives concentration.
That is why people give the ml amount (volume) for liquid
and then give the concentration mg/ml so that the mg
amount can be figured out.

First of all, are you sure that it is Prednisolone and not
Prednisone? The liver converts Prednisone to Prednisolone
before the body can utilize it, so when there is any
chance that a liver may be compromised it pays to just
start off with Prednisolone.

You want to start at the lowest possible dose to give
enough benefit per the blood tests your vet will run.

Since you are planning surgery do be sure to do the
preop testing beforehand.

We have personally had good luck with insulinoma
surgery if done early in the disease, with several
completely cured, but they also were lucky enough
to not have the insulinoma in a bad location in the
pancreas, which we have run into with another.

What blood glucose reading did your vet get for
this ferret and was it read in-house, or sent out?
