With humans who have dysphagia several things
are done to get more effective swallowing, and
swallowing therapists know of special things.
Position is one thing, another is to thicken liquids
and to thin solids. So liquids may be given with a
gel or as a soup with some pureed solids added,
while the solids are given in forms that break up
easily into a slurry. Solids can be hard to swallow
for such people and thin things can surprisingly
be even harder to swallow for many, so it may be
that some of those tricks may also be helpful for
your ferret.
