Subject: [ferrethealth] re: sneezing ferrets

I use a product from Peaceful Mountain that works very well with the
ferrets when they have their outbreaks of pasteurella - it is called
Sinus Rescue and it contains 30ppm elemental silver (colloidal silver)
per 4 sprays. I use one drop in each little nostril 2-3 times per day
and it helps immensely. I checked with our vet before using it as
colloidal silver is a controversial supplement, and he said the amount
ppm is very small and won't cause harm. This is the one product that
actually helps with recurring pasteurella when the antibiotics don't
clear the sinuses. Colloidal silver information can be found on the
web if you are interested. I found mine at our local health food
store, and I also ordered it online at www.luckyvitamins.com.

Previously I used little noses saline drops to moisten the mucus
membranes and take down inflammation, and a small section of wash
cloth, wet and warmed with hot water (not too hot), held over bridge of
nose for a couple minutes to decrease inflammation.
