Laxative,

a inch or so of petroleum jelly ( unscented) works well for ferrets
and cats in passing hair balls, in fact it works much better than
tubes of hair ball remedy which has corn syrup in it as all sugars
tend to constipate.

It IS shedding season and all ferret owners need to be aware that
tricobezars ( hair balls) can form in stomachs even if pets are given
hair ball remedies. We have seen the proof post surgically!
