The little surrender who had the delayed reaction to the distemper vaccination was pretreated with Benadryl. My vet normally waits 15 minutes after giving the Benadryl before giving the vaccine. However, because she was a serious fear biter when she came in, he gave the injections in quick succession - minutes apart. Perhaps that is why she had a delayed reaction??? And maybe that is also why, although it was a bad reaction, it wasn't worse.
The rest of my personal ferrets are enrolled in the Mongo Memorial Distemper Titer Study.
