Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Vaccination reactions
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

No relation whatsoever, and this was in the coarse of 18yrs. They all
ended up with the dreaded reaction, sometimes yrs after successfully
receiving it,just out of the clear blue, and my vet did all the
precautions first as a just in case, benadryl ect. This was the true
reaction, where they where at near death and had to be left hooked up to
all the treatment, and having the vet trying to assure me they would do
all they could. The weird thing is, I had two ferrets names marvin and
coco, and they where cage mates but no relation, both had successfull
distemper vaccines each yr.,I never did both rabies and distemper at the
same time, always seperated to give their bodies a rest. Anyway, both on
the same day,out of the blue, both had the reactions on the day I took
them!! This was very strange to me.. So both where left getting all the
treatments, fluids ect.,and me not knowing if they would make it. All my
ferrets very shortly later developed weird things like
pnamonia, spelling? And months later always bigger issues, heart disease
ect. After living through this, and knowing u r never safe from this even
after yrs of success, and knowing what reactions people have as well and
studying and seeing first hand with my own health,I do not believe its
an option for me,and my ferrets in my situation. I live alone,my ferrets
are indoors,no contact with other people or animals,I take my shoes off
when I enter, wash my hands and even have certain clothes I get home and
change into before handling them. I understand and respect everyones
decition,as I'm sure we all love our babies and want what is best for
them, and anything I decide,is weighed and studyed at great legnth..
